AISI 304 / 316 Stainless Steel Pool Ladder
Cometepool manufactures stainless steel pool ladders in-house on its ISO 9001 certified production line in İzmir, Türkiye, as part of a range of more than 200 pool products. Ladders are offered in AISI 304 or AISI 316, produced to standard dimensions or custom-fabricated to your project drawings, and supplied to pool contractors, mechanical contracting firms and dealers in more than 35 countries.
A stainless steel pool ladder is the most frequently touched part of a pool and the one that stays in the water longest, so wall thickness and weld quality matter far more than surface shine. Cometepool builds every ladder from Ø42×1.5 mm bright-surface stainless tube, with treads formed from 1.2 mm non-slip bright stainless sheet. On the easy-exit and hydrotherapy series the tread sheet increases to 1.5 mm, and easy-exit treads carry an additional anti-slip pad. The 1.5 mm tube wall is constant across the family — it is what keeps the ladder rigid and the handrail solid in the hand years after installation.
The range is a program rather than a single product, and it splits by pool type. On the Standard ladder dimension A is 650 mm; on the Muro and Mixto models it is 350 mm. The Standard ladder measures (A × D) 650 × 710 mm at 2 treads, 650 × 960 mm at 3, 650 × 1,210 mm at 4 and 650 × 1,460 mm at 5. Deck-level (overflow) pools have their own series: 500 mm ladder width, 900 mm or 1,000 mm spacing (dimension C), and dimension A from 1,558 mm at 2 treads to 2,308 mm at 5. The program also covers rail-less exit ladders, armed exit ladders with 2+1 and 3+1 safety treads, hydrotherapy ladders from 4 to 8 treads, and marine jetty ladders from 5 to 11 treads.
Standard, Muro, Mixto and Overflow models are available in two mounting variants: anchored and flanged. The anchored version is cast into an anchor socket set during the concrete pour and is the usual choice on new build. The flanged version bolts down onto finished concrete or coping through a flange plate, which makes it the practical answer for existing pools and refurbishment work. Above-concrete stainless anchors, a complete plastic ladder anchor for Ø42 mm tube, 105 / 130 / 152 mm escutcheons, replacement treads, tread bushing rubbers and AISI 316 tread bolts are all supplied as separate line items, so a ladder can be maintained part by part instead of replaced.
Grade selection follows the application. AISI 304 is used safely in fresh-water pools, while AISI 316 is suitable for all pool types and is therefore the grade specified for salt-water and high-chlorine installations. Jetty ladders that sit in sea water are produced only in AISI 316 stainless; no AISI 304 version of that product exists. Anything outside the standard sizes is fabricated to project: hydrotherapy ladders are made to the pool's own water level and depth, jetty ladders require the customer to state dimensions B, C and D, and handrails and grab rails are produced to drawing. APPLICATION AREAS
- Skimmer-type private and residential pools — cast-in anchored Standard ladders, selected from 2 to 5 treads according to pool depth.
- Deck-level hotel, resort and facility pools — Overflow ladders with 900 mm or 1,000 mm spacing and 500 mm ladder width, descending over the overflow grating.
- Pools with narrow coping or limited walkway space — dimension A is 350 mm on the Muro and Mixto models.
- Hydrotherapy, rehabilitation and therapy pools — inclined ladders with 600 mm wide treads, 4 to 8 treads, custom fabricated to the pool's water level.
- Salt-water and high-chlorine pools — AISI 316 is suitable for all pool types and is the grade specified for these installations.
- Marine jetties and coastal facilities — jetty ladders are produced only in AISI 316 stainless, suitable for sea water, from 5 to 11 treads.
- Renovation of existing pools — flanged models and above-concrete stainless anchors allow installation onto finished coping without breaking out concrete.

Can stainless steel pool ladders be made to custom dimensions?+
Yes. Custom fabrication to project drawings is Cometepool's core competency: step counts from 2 to 11 and non-standard dimensions. Standard production covers 2–5 step ladders.
Should I specify AISI 304 or AISI 316 for my pool ladder?+
AISI 304 ladders are used safely in fresh-water pools. AISI 316 is suitable for all pool types, which makes it the grade to specify for salt water, high-chlorine water and installations near the sea. Jetty ladders that sit in sea water are produced in AISI 316 only. Send us your pool's water chemistry and our technical team will recommend the correct grade.
How do I take the measurements and how many treads should I order?+
The tread count follows the pool depth. The Standard ladder measures (A × D) 650 × 710 mm at 2 treads, 650 × 960 mm at 3, 650 × 1,210 mm at 4 and 650 × 1,460 mm at 5. Hydrotherapy ladders vary with pool depth, so they are custom fabricated to the water level. Send us a section detail of the pool edge and we will identify the right model with you.
What is the difference between an anchored and a flanged ladder?+
An anchored ladder sits in an anchor socket cast into the concrete, so it is specified while the pool is still being built. A flanged ladder is fixed through a flange plate at the base of the frame onto finished concrete or coping. Standard, Muro, Mixto and Overflow models are all produced in both anchored and flanged versions.
Can a ladder be retrofitted to an existing pool?+
Yes. Flanged models are used when the pool is already finished, as the flange plate bolts down onto the existing coping without breaking out concrete. Above-concrete stainless anchors (AISI 304 and AISI 316) and a complete plastic ladder anchor for Ø42 mm tube are also available as spare parts. A photograph of your existing pool edge detail is usually enough for us to identify the right mounting solution.
What is the difference between the Standard, Muro and Mixto models?+
All three share the same Ø42×1.5 mm frame tube and 1.2 mm non-slip tread sheet; the difference is in the handrail geometry. The Standard model has dimension A at 650 mm, while Muro and Mixto are at 350 mm.
Which model and which spacing should be chosen for an overflow pool?+
Deck-level pools with overflow gratings take the Overflow ladder, which has a 500 mm ladder width and a choice of 900 mm or 1,000 mm spacing (dimension C). The spacing is chosen according to the width of the overflow channel and how the ladder must cross the grating. Overflow ladders are also produced in AISI 304 and AISI 316, anchored or flanged.
Do you manufacture to project-specific drawings?+
Yes — custom fabrication is a standing part of the production program. Handrails and grab rails are produced to suit any project, hydrotherapy ladders are custom made to the pool's water level, and jetty ladders are built once you state dimensions B, C and D.
