PAR56 SMD LED Pool Light
Cometepool manufactures the PAR56 SMD LED pool light on its ISO 9001-certified production line in Bornova, İzmir, and exports abroad. The luminaire is IP68-rated for underwater use, runs on low-voltage 12V AC/DC power and fits standard PAR56 housings, making it suitable for both new pool builds and lamp-for-lamp renovations. As the manufacturer, we work directly with pool contractors, mechanical contracting firms and dealers.
The PAR56 SMD LED pool light carries 72 high-output SMD LEDs in a single IP68-rated underwater fixture. It is built in four light colours — white, daylight, blue and full RGB. Single-colour versions run on 12 V AC (50/60 Hz) and the full RGB version on 12 V DC; luminous flux reaches 3,410 lm on the white model and 3,200 lm on the daylight model. Rated LED life is 50,000 hours, with an operating and storage range of -30 to +80 °C.
The body is moulded from first-grade ABS and the LEDs are mounted on an aluminium PCB, a combination that moves heat away from the diodes and protects output over long running hours. The front ring can be supplied in ABS (YP006) or in stainless steel, AISI 304 (YP010) or AISI 316 (YP011). For pools with high chlorine loads, salt chlorination or seawater make-up, specifiers normally choose AISI 316. Cable entry is 2-insert on single-colour units and 4-insert on full RGB units; where the installation only allows a two-wire run to the lamp, the SMD004-2K two-cable RGB version covers that case.
The family is supplied in the form that suits the stage of your project: lamp only (SMD001 / SMD004), lamp complete with ABS niche (SMD005 / SMD008), or lamp body without niche (SMD010 / SMD011). In refurbishment work the lamp alone is usually replaced, while on new shells the niche is normally set before the concrete is poured — a separate ABS niche set (SMDK001) is available for that. Outer housing, inner housing, retaining lug and body O-ring are all listed as individual spare-part codes, so a single component can be replaced years later instead of the whole fixture. Where a stainless-faced fixture is required, the same catalogue section offers complete stainless pool lights (KSRP range) in AISI 304 and AISI 316, with SMD or Power LED engines.
A PAR56 fixture is never specified on its own. The 12 V supply comes from 100 W, 300 W or 400 W transformers, copper-wound classic or insulated type; as the run between plant room and pool grows, cable cross-section must grow with it, and the catalogue includes a distance/voltage-drop diagram for the 300 W · 12 V case. Colour changing on full RGB fixtures is handled by 2-wire or 4-wire RGB control units operating at 433 MHz with 18 colour modes over 3 channels and roughly 100 m range, built to the lamp count of the specific project. Because lamps, transformers, control units and plant-room panels all come from one manufacturer, distributors and contractors avoid the compatibility gaps that appear when these parts are bought from different sources.

APPLICATION AREAS
- Underwater lighting for new residential and villa pools. The niche is normally set during the shell stage before the concrete is poured; the lamp itself is fitted at commissioning.
- Lamp-for-lamp upgrades in pools that already have PAR56 niches. An old halogen or worn LED lamp is swapped for an SMD LED unit without touching the niche or the wiring.
- Hotel, resort, spa and wellness pools. Full RGB fixtures with 433 MHz control units let the operator change the evening atmosphere of the pool deck scene by scene.
- Mechanical contracting and project-based supply. Sourcing lamps, transformers, RGB control units and plant-room panels from one manufacturer removes on-site compatibility problems.
- Distributor and export stock. Single-colour and RGB lamps, niches and spare parts all carry separate codes, so distributors can hold the fast-moving items in stock.
- Installations with high chlorine loads or close to the sea. These projects normally call for the AISI 316 front ring or the complete stainless KSRP range.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Will a PAR56 SMD LED light fit my existing pool light niche?+
Yes. The lamp is compatible with standard PAR56 housings, so it can be fitted in place of an existing PAR56 bulb in renovation projects.
What transformer does a 12V PAR56 LED pool light require?+
The light operates on 12V and is not connected directly to mains voltage; it is used together with a 12V copper-wound pool transformer (classic or insulated type). Cometepool also offers a compatible transformer family, including models that work with RF 433 MHz RGB control units, so the light and its power supply can be sourced from a single supplier.
How are the colours controlled on the RGB version?+
RGB models are operated via RF 433 MHz remote control units working together with the compatible Cometepool transformer family. Single-colour models need no controller and are fed directly from the 12V supply.
Should I specify AISI 304 or AISI 316 for the front ring?+
AISI 304 is adequate for most indoor and outdoor pools running on conventional chlorinated water. Where salt chlorination, high chlorine loads or seawater and coastal air are involved, AISI 316 is the usual choice. Both grades are listed as separate codes (YP010 and YP011), and both are available in the complete stainless KSRP range.
Can it be retrofitted into an existing pool?+
Yes. If the pool already has a standard PAR56 niche, only the lamp is changed and the niche and wiring stay in place. Where the existing niche is damaged or there is no niche at all, the separate ABS niche set (SMDK001) renews it; where the existing niche is retained, the lamp body without niche (SMD010 / SMD011) is the usual choice.
How do I take the measurements?+
The decisive figures are the internal diameter and depth of the existing niche. On the technical drawing the front ring is Ø177 mm, the body Ø157 mm and the overall depth 98 mm. Send a photograph of the niche together with its internal diameter and depth, and the correct code can be identified straight away.
Which transformer do I need and how is the cable sized?+
The fixture runs on 12 V and is never connected to mains directly. Transformer rating is chosen from the 100 W, 300 W and 400 W options according to the combined load of the lamps on that circuit. As the run between plant room and pool gets longer the cable cross-section has to increase; the catalogue includes a distance/voltage-drop diagram for the 300 W · 12 V case.
How is RGB colour controlled, and for how many fixtures?+
Full RGB fixtures are driven by 2-wire or 4-wire RGB control units. They are operated by 433 MHz radio remote, with 18 colour modes across 3 channels and roughly 100 m of range. Control units come in 10-lamp and 20-lamp capacities and are built to the lamp count of the individual project.
What maintenance does it need?+
The fixture is IP68 and designed for continuous submerged operation; routine maintenance amounts to keeping the niche and lens free of scale and dirt. Every time the lamp is removed and refitted, check the body O-ring (YP005) and replace it if it has flattened or hardened. Outer housing, inner housing and retaining lug are all separate codes, so single components can be replaced rather than the whole unit.
Do you manufacture to project-specific requirements?+
Yes. Colour, frame grade and supply form (lamp only, with niche, without niche) are selected per project, and RGB control units are built to the lamp count of each job in any case. If a non-standard ring or mounting detail is required, it is assessed from your drawing.
